Mosaic flower, Ludwigia sedioides

Photos taken by Bob Thomas, Rio Matiyure, Hato El Cedral, Apure, Venezuela, June 1991.

This is a lovely aquatic plant with rosettes of diamond-shaped leaves.  It is rooted in the bottom, and its stems can be quite long.  Not uncommon in aquatic landscapes in the U.S., but native to Brazil, Venezuela, and surrounding areas.
