“Hanging fungus”

This is called a “hanging fungus” because it hangs, and we don’t know yet what it is.  They were found in Tambopata National Park, Peru.  They were in the forest near Refugio Amazonas Lodge in November 2007.  Assume the black lacy stuff is the rhizome.
